Slow & Steady: A Full Repertoire against the Sicilian
MoveTrainer® Opening course by IM Alan-Safar Ramoutar & by FM Vuk Zegarac
Najdorf? Dragon? Sveshnikov? Different names, same story. The Sicilian tries to drag you into a tactical mess and turn chess into a memory contest. But you don’t have to play along nor cram 40 moves of sharp theory yourself. Not when you can muffle Black’s tactics with a “wait and see” knight move, while your positional trumps sing!
Think:
Owning the center so completely, you can dial up the pressure on either flank…
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, central supremacy
You can damage their queenside with
a4-a5-a6, undermine their kingside,
or even march through the center!
Outclassing Black’s pieces in square control…
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, better square control
Compare the squares controlled by the
knights and bishops, then it becomes
clear you have the edge!
Or cracking their pawn structure, so you can press for the win no matter the stage of the game.
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, busted Black pawns
Even when this game comes down to
just pawns, you can still win because
of that abomination on the c-file!
This is the kind of game you get with Slow & Steady: A Full Repertoire against the Sicilian.
You’ll learn from Alan-Safar Ramoutar.
He’s an International Master with a peak rating of 2477. He’s also Trinidad & Tobago’s top-ranked player.
Ramoutar rose to fame by improving from 1405 to 2305 in just 4 short years. He also won 4 straight Caribbean Junior Championships… before winning the 2019 Central America & Caribbean Absolute Championship.
Inside, he blunts the razor-edge Sicilian without giving up winning chances.
And Ramoutar should know!
For over 6 years, he’s trusted the “Quiet Knight” sideline you’re about to learn.
Not only does he beat 2400 to 2500-level players on the regular with it… he’s even taken the upper-hand against many 2600-rated grandmasters!
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, Ramoutar attacking
Ramoutar about to blow away a former
world #89, even without queens!
Also joining you is Vuk Žegarac — FIDE Master and a walking positional compass.
He’s also been a constant force at the Serbian Premier Team Championships since 2019.
He pairs airtight control with smart sidelines to hold GMs to draws and take down IMs... often as the underdog by 100 Elo or more.
Between Ramoutar and Žegarac you get…
Style-Consistent Moves And Years
of Hard-Earned Experience
in a Trainable Format
Let’s check out the first few moves:
You answer 1.e4 c5 with 2.Nc3. And just like that, you avoid 100s of pages of theory tied to the more popular 2.Nf3.
But 2.Nc3 isn’t just about avoidance.
It’s also a high-class waiting move. You get a piece off the backrank. You hit key squares in the center — without revealing your hand just yet.
So when Black shows their brand of Sicilian, you can choose a setup that poses them tough problems!
Did they play 2…d6 like in the Najdorf? Then you immediately pounce on the a6-e8 diagonal with 3.Bb5+!
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, Bb5+ against Najdorf
The “Quiet Knight” Anti-Sicilian
vs. the Najdorf setup
No matter how they meet the check, you come out with the initiative.
Either you saddle them with juicy doubled c-pawns, or pull ahead in development. Even Black’s “best” defense leaves behind weak squares you can jump on, especially d6.
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, Najdorf weak d6 and dark squares
With weak squares and a weak
king to pick on, you have a tight
grip on the initiative!
Against 3…Nc6 a la Sveshnikov, you stick to the same “bishop to b5” idea.
Then you follow up one of the most versatile moves in chess openings.
It creates a hook you can use to open a file. It discourages Black from grabbing queenside space. It even keeps the door open for an f4-f5 attack!
And if Black somehow sidesteps all of that? Their light-squared bishop still ends up buried under its own pawns.
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, bad Sveshnikov bishop
Black’s bishop stays stuck on the queenside,
while you’re about to drop 1.Nxg7! followed
by 2.Qg5+ and 3.Re3!
Of course, Black can also play the Dragon with 2…g6, and set the long diagonal on fire.
But you beat them to the dark squares. You route your bishop to c3 to trade off their prized piece. Or you line up the classic queen-and-bishop battery and land on h6.
Either way, the Dragon is Dra-GONE!
Slow & Steady vs. the Sicilian, improved mating attack vs dragon
The improved h-file attack:
No …d5 counter to worry about nor a
target to hit on c4, so your ‘sac, sac,
mate’ plan proceeds undisturbed!
You may also run into the Taimanov, O’Kelly, and other rare variations. Each with their little bag of tactical tricks.
But this “Quiet Knight” Anti-Sicilian has your back with 305 MoveTrainer variations. So you’re ready to punish the sidelines!
To collapse your learning curve, you also get:
🏇 Almost 15 hours of video that goes beyond the text. So when you bring your knight to c3, you’re playing it with expert understanding.
🏇 The Quickstarter chapter to show you the 20 must-know lines. This way, you can start playing the opening after studying for just a day or two, not weeks!
🏇 Plus 13 model games. Watch Anish Giri (peak world #3), Pentala Harikrishna (peak world #10), and Ramoutar showcase the winning potential of your new Anti-Sicilian.
Go ahead and enroll today.
Then you’ll finally face the Sicilian without fearing its tactics. You’ll head for steady positions, where your long-term control matters more than Black's short-term tactics.
